Taarak Mehta: Kush Shah, Goli Emotional After Leaving Show After 16 Years, Asit Modi Introduces New Goli
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a famous TV show that has successfully completed 16 years. It is a very popular show. Many characters have changed over time, with some rejoining the show and others leaving.
The latest to leave the show is Mr. Hansraj Haathi’s son, Gulab Kumar Haathi, affectionately known as Goli, famously played by Kush Shah. The show started in July 2008, and Goli has been part of it since then. Due to his education, he has to leave the show.
Kush Shah has gone to the US for his further studies. A fan spotted him in the US, and when asked, he confirmed that he had quit the show for his studies.
In the upcoming episodes of “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” Kush Shah will be seen bidding farewell to his beloved character, Goli. An emotional moment ensues as he cuts his farewell cake, surrounded by his co-stars.
Jethalal (played by Dilip Joshi), Palak Sindhwani, and Asit Modi were present at his farewell. Asit Kumar expressed his gratitude, saying, “Goli has spent his entire childhood here and has won everyone’s hearts. He has been very consistent since Day 1. Kush, thank you and all the best. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you success. Keep moving forward.”
Kush Shah also thanked the audience for their love and support before introducing the new actor who will take over the role of Goli.

“I’ll make you all proud. Thank you so much. I have completed 16 wonderful years on this show. The journey has been beautiful. So, with your love in mind, I take my leave from the show. But remember, only I, Kush Shah, am leaving. Your Goli will remain the same—bringing happiness, laughter, and mischief. An actor might change in Taarak, but not the character,” Kush said as he signed off.
Over the years, many actors have left the show for various reasons. Some have returned, while others have moved on to new opportunities.
