Alert! These 7 Banks Cheque Books Will Become Invalid From April 1st.

The Cheque books and passbooks of seven banks will become void on April 1, 2021, causing adjustments for bank account holders. Dena Bank, Vijaya Bank, Corporation Bank, Andhra Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, United Bank, and Allahabad Bank are among the banks that merged with other banks between April 1, 2019 and April 1, 2020.

If a customer has an account with one of these seven banks, search for a new Cheque book and IFSC code right away.

On April 1, 2019, Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank merged with Bank of Baroda. From April 1, only Bank of Baroda Cheque books and passbooks will be approved.

Punjab National Bank has merged with Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India (PNB). The Cheque books of the two banks that merged into Punjab National Bank will only be valid until March 31, 2021, according to the bank.

Account holders of Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank can now search their latest IFSC codes on the banks’ official websites. Customers must visit the official website www.unionbankofindia.co.in to do so. After that, go to this page and click on amalgamation centre. After that, you’ll be able to see the most recent IFSC code. You can reach the bank by dialling 1800-208-2244, 1800-425-1515, or 1800-425-3555. You can also receive information via SMS. To do so, send a text message to 9223008486 with the word IFSC in the subject line.

After the merger with Canara Bank, the merger period for Syndicate Bank’s Cheque book has been extended until June 30, 2021. Apart from that, United Bank of India has combined Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank. Allahabad Bank and Indian Bank have been merged by the government.

The new rules will take effect on April 1st, and the account number, IFSC code, MICR code, and branch address will all be updated as a result of the merger.
