Pathaan becomes the Highest-Grossing Film in the World

Shah Rukh Khan returns to Bollywood after a few years away, and his comeback film Pathaan has the highest opening day in Hindi cinema history. Pathaan’s first-day collection was Rs 57 crore net (Rs 68 crore gross) in India alone; however, it grossed more than Rs 104 crore worldwide.

This is made even more remarkable by the fact that on January 25, the movie had the biggest global box office receipts. Trade sources claim that Pathaan has surpassed Avatar: The Way of Water, which has held the top spot every day since its debut in December.

Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan’s most anticipated film, proved to be the King of Bollywood, grossing Rs. 68 crore ($8.3 million) in India alone and $4.3 million in profit from the international market despite many issues and opposition. On Wednesday, total revenue was $12.77 million, the highest global total to date, as well as $8.3 million in India. Before Pathaan’s release, Avatar: The Way of Water was the first ever movie to make $10.5 million on its opening day. Now Pathaan stands tall and is the highest grossing movie in Indian cinema.

Two more Indian movies recently succeeded in holding the title of highest-grossing movie worldwide on two separate occasions. Telugu hit RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, earned $60 million on its first weekend of release worldwide in March of last year. By accomplishing this, it outperformed The Lost City ($30 million) and The Batman ($45 million). This was previously accomplished by Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion, which made $77 million on its first weekend of release in 2017. If Pathaan can maintain its earnings through Sunday, it has a chance to repeat this achievement. The Shah Rukh Khan-starring film is expected to have a $50 million extended opening weekend worldwide, according to analysts.

Pathaan Box Office Collection Day 2: Shah Rukh Khan breaking all the records. The movie is performing brilliantly, and to put it mildly, its second-day collections have been fantastic. With their Republic Day total, Pathaan has exceeded all expectations. On day 1, the movie brought in Rs 57 crore (all India) nett, while the second day was predicted to bring in about Rs 60 crore. The Thursday collections, however, now tell a different tale.

Pathaan’s second-day numbers set a new record. With regard to a single day’s business for a Bollywood picture, the movie has managed to bring in almost Rs 70 crore nett (all of India). The fresh data simply serve to demonstrate that Pathaan’s success is now beyond all previous benchmarks. The Siddharth Anand-directed movie would have set a record in any case by being the first Bollywood film to gross over Rs 60 crore in a single day.
