Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli recently took to social media platforms Instagram and X to reveal the first look of his stunning new holiday home in Alibaug. This coastal retreat, located south of Mumbai, has become a popular choice for high-net-worth individuals, including Bollywood celebrities, sports icons, corporate leaders, and NRIs.

Sharing a video chronicling the 12-month construction journey of his property, Kohli wrote:
“The journey of building my Alibaug home has been a seamless experience, and seeing it all come together is truly gratifying. Huge thanks to the entire Avas team for making our dream home a reality.”

An Exclusive Address at Awas Living
The Kohli residence is part of Awas Living, a gated community in Alibaug offering a mix of luxury villas, a wellness center, and a spa. Founded by Aditya Kilachand, Awas Wellness has attracted notable investors, including Adar Poonawalla and Gaurav Kapur.

In the video, Kohli expressed his admiration for the project, highlighting its perfect balance between community living and personal privacy. He described his villa’s design as “subtle and classy,” blending Californian and Konkan architectural styles with ample natural light.

The project was developed in collaboration with South African architectural firm SAOTA and designer Sussanne Khan. It includes 16 fully furnished villas, each spanning 3,000 to 5,000 square feet, priced between ₹10-14 crore. Most of the units have already been sold, with only one villa remaining.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s villa, built on a 10,000-square-foot plot, reportedly cost ₹32 crore. The home features high ceilings, a temperature-controlled swimming pool, and an elegant master bedroom designed for tranquility. The interiors boast luxurious touches like onyx marble countertops in the powder room.

Alibaug: A Real Estate Hotspot
Known as the “Hamptons of Mumbai,” Alibaug is gaining traction among investors due to its serene environment and proximity to Mumbai. Land rates range between ₹3,000 to ₹15,000 per square foot, with rental yields at 5-6% and annual property appreciation of 12-15%.

Access to Alibaug has been significantly improved with the introduction of roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) ferry services, reducing travel time to just 45 minutes from Mumbai to Mandwa, followed by a 30-minute drive to Alibaug.
