Step-by-Step Guide to Update Address in Aadhaar:
- Visit the Aadhaar Self-Service Update Portal: Open the official portal at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
- Log in to Your Account: Use your Aadhaar number and the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number to log in.
- Select the Address Update Option: After logging in, click on the “Address Update” tab.
- Click on the Update Aadhaar Online tab.
- On the next page, read the guidelines carefully and click on the Proceed to Update Aadhaar button.
- Select Address as shown in the below image and proceed to update Aadhaar.
- On this page, you will find your current address on the Aadhaar card. Scroll down and enter the ‘Care of’ (father’s name or husband’s name) field and then enter the new address you want to update on the Aadhaar card with a valid post office and pincode. Select the proof of address document from the dropdown list of valid supporting documents, upload the document, and click Next.
- Preview the details and proceed to payment. Pay the non-refundable charges of ₹50. After payment, a Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated. Keep the SRN for future tracking or to check the status of your address update.

Documents Needed to Update Aadhaar Card Address
The UIDAI portal has made it easy to update your Aadhaar card address. While more than 15 types of documents are accepted as proof of address, here are some commonly used ones:
- Passport
- Bank passbook or post office account statement
- Ration card
- Voter ID
- Disability card

- Electricity bill (not older than 3 months) or prepaid receipts
- Water bill (not older than 3 months)
