After her controversial post on the web series “Tandav”, which is facing a backlash over scenes that allegedly harmed Hindu sentiments, Actor Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account was briefly switched to “read-only” mode. The actor said in a now-deleted tweet about the creators of “Tandav” that it was “time to take their heads off” In reply to the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, she had made that comment asking the series’ producers to justify in some scenes allegations of insult to Hindu Gods.
“Because even Lord Krishna forgave 99 mistakes of Sheshupala… Pehle Shanti Phir Kranti (Silence must be followed by revolution)…. time to take their heads off… Jai Shri Krishan…,” tweeted Kangana Ranaut.
That morning, for hours, her Twitter account was restricted.

Ms. Ranaut had recovered the right to post on her account by Wednesday evening. Some of her fans said she had been mistaken on social media, that “taking one’s head off” was an idiom that actually meant “to scold or berate someone severely”. In her post, Ms. Ranaut dared to suspend her on Twitter and said if they did, her “reloaded” version would reappear.
“Anti nationals are trending #SuspendKanganaRanaut …. please do, when they suspended Rangs I came and made their lives even more miserable, now if they suspend me will exit virtual world and in real world will show you real Kangana Ranaut- the mother of all fathers #babbarsherni,” Ms. Ranaut tweeted.
On Twitter, Ms. Ranaut has been vocal on a number of topics, including the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the uproar over her statements comparing Mumbai to PoK.
