What was supposed to be a night of music and celebration quickly turned chaotic when some students in the crowd started throwing stones and plastic bottles at the singer.

Sonu Nigam, who was performing for a massive crowd of over one lakh attendees, had to pause mid-performance as the situation escalated. Despite the disruption, the singer maintained his composure and appealed to the audience to behave.

“Main aapke liye aaya hun yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye.”

His request was aimed at ensuring the safety of his team members, who reportedly sustained injuries due to the unexpected chaos.

“It was shameful to see that just because of a few unruly students, a legend like him had to pause and request the audience to behave.”

Amidst the chaos, Sonu Nigam still managed to keep the mood light when a fan threw a pink hairband onto the stage. Instead of reacting negatively, he put it on and playfully said, “I will take this home.” The crowd affectionately called him “Pookie,” adding a moment of humor to an otherwise tense evening.

This incident has raised serious concerns about crowd control at large-scale university events. With over one lakh attendees, the lack of proper security measures became evident.

This is not the first time Sonu Nigam has faced disruptions at a concert. In February 2025, during a show in Kolkata, he expressed frustration when the audience kept standing instead of sitting in their assigned seats. Annoyed, he said:

“Agar tum ko khada hona hi hain, election mein khade ho jaao yaar!”

Despite his frustration, he still urged the crowd to enjoy the show with discipline.
