Court Confirms Divorce
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma had filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025. After legal proceedings, the Mumbai family court approved their petition. Advocate Nitin Kumar Gupta, representing Chahal, confirmed the news.
“The court has granted the decree of divorce. The parties are no longer husband and wife,” said Gupta while addressing the media.
Reason Behind The Divorce
The couple, who tied the knot in December 2020, started living separately in June 2022. Following irreconcilable differences, they mutually agreed to end their marriage legally.
Alimony Settlement
- Chahal has agreed to pay Rs 4.75 crore as permanent alimony to Dhanashree.
- The first installment of Rs 2.37 crore has already been paid.
- The remaining amount will be cleared after the official divorce decree.

Under the Hindu Marriage Act, a six-month waiting period is required before granting a divorce. However, the couple appealed to the Bombay High Court, requesting an exception.
